First off, this is a new online diary, personally, i would prefer to write this down, and although i advocate handwriting notes and memoirs and the such, i truly cannot fathom writing at the speed at which i am typing at the moment. As such, it is not due to a preferred like or affiliation with the internet that i post this here. It is simply for ease of use and access. You could say that i should use word, but my computer seems to have a distinct mild disliking for extensive or non extensive use of Microsoft word. Although a new computer would be nice and greatly appreciated to be fair, i am seemingly "loyal" towards my current device, a characteristic which causes me dearly, for unpronounceable matters.
There are reasons on why i would far rather choose to hand write this, but it is not the telos of this conversation ( or is it? ) to breach that matter. But for a few moments, lets us breach that particular matter, if not for clarification, then simply for peace of mind.
One, this is the internet and whatever characters leap from supposed being onto the screen will be firmly in place for all eternity. ( Well, one could argue that this would also be the case if one use a pencil to write this down as well- -- Future self, refer to the Angus conversation you had outside the library about "doing things and its everlasting effect" )
Two - i do not actually intend or really want anyone to read this other than myself, so until i find a computerized diary, which to be honest i cannot actually imagine to be hard to fine ( although my computer skills are horridly inept,) i have to content myself with this. ( have is not the right word, but "am" would be better at this moment i should so think.)
Thirdly, I need to organize my thoughts which is of utmost importance and i find it is best when it is noted down in some form. And this should so be the place ( well not really,) as i am as i mentioned earlier "loyal" or in the use of another term appropriate for this moment, - i cant seem to find that word, so i shall simply stick with, i am rather - i rather like this blog and affiliate my self with it to a certain extent.
Right, now onward we proceed, first to noting some observations before documenting the flow of the mind.
- It simply is hard to read when one coughs. Not only that, it simply is hard to understand when one has other things on ones mind. And reading is taking a while, 35 pages in an hour. That is far under the one page every minute and a bit i set myself. I have to better brush up on this on a rather urgent note. this is a skill which will be required rather drastically in a short time period from now.
And so we reach the banks of the delta Mind.
How to proceed we ask ourselves, what does one do when he confronts a delta which must be channeled.
In all honesty, i do not know. But i would suspect we start at the start, observation and notation and so it shall be.
I am currently in the process of reading "An introduction to Political Philosophy, revised edition, by Jonathan Wolff".
One - i regret not making notes, although if i did i would be far slower than my already horrifyingly speed lacking tempo. I simply do not remember the arguments and it seems that i will have to reread the whole book at a future date.
Note to self - one you already know actually, but reinforcement never hurt anyone, aside from the enemy ( unless he plans for it to happen), and the enemy this time is anti-knowledge as we shall so call it. --> Read a book in one sitting if possible, unlike the numerous multi sittings you have with this. Do it with the half finished fukuyama book as well.
Back to topic.
The book starts that political philosophy needs a basis, a state of nature, and it is hear where Hobbes contends that the state of nature is an evil one, horrid one, rather rubbish in fact, one of contest competition and violence. Fair enough, i can see where you can get that view, some humans are rather nasty beings. And it does seem to be the case in some sense, the whole looking out for one's self and self interest and that it is a lonely world out there. Basic Economics 101 provides proof and and uses this as a basis to show us this. ( I truly wonder what 101 actually means.)
But unfortunately for you my dear Hobbes, or maybe it is fortunate for me, modern science was not at your disposal. This is where I, with my so called Mind Delta, contend you in this view, ( and possibly Locke as well, but to be truly honest i can not remember what he had said, although it was somewhere along the lines with Hobbes, - or against it. But it isnt like mine. i think. i hope.)
The isolated and individual nature that Hobbes so describes in his state of nature is, I believe wrong. Humans are and always have been altruistic creatures. I simply cannot believe that civilization and government came into being due to the process of game theory and greater survival probabilities, although logical if one accepts the premise of the violent state of nature.
I believe that the state of nature, was in fact never there. I relive the first form of societies, or the state of nature as so said, was in fact a tribal one, which according to ( i dont really know who, but in the book), is past the state of nature. There was no state of nature. The tribe is the organised early form of civilization. The family even, with an alpha male or father being in charge and providing "government for those under his care, or her care if it was a maternalistic society or single mother.
We simply evolved this way from our predecessors, ancient(?) simians.
One cannot argue for the state of nature of humans if at the point of the so called state of nature, we were simply another species altogether. ( There is a flaw towards this argument, and that is the assumption that the theory of evolution is indeed the "True and Certain Truth". We are however inclined to support this at the time being as scientific evidence points towards it being so ( or does it, there is a lack of research on my part into the matter at the time being).
As such, in this first post, i have to be inclined towards the fact that the violent state of nature did not exist, that for the individual, there has always been a form of government which evolved into what it is today. This violent state of nature Hobbes so proclaims, could in fact have occurred, but instead of it occurring at the individual level, it occurred at the tribal level. I suppose today we would simply call that competition.
- Thus, in my view, tribal settings were the original form, hopefully backed up by facts, ( i think fukuyama does a good job in this in his newest book - writing as of September 2011). And it is from this tribal setting on human beings that cultured norms, cultural morals and the environment began to transform us into different political and cultural establishments.
Hopefully i can be able to think all this through and justify all this in time, and further this thought experiment, towards the ideal form of society.
This blog seems to fulfill to a rather decent extent the ability to organize and lay down thoughts, the very beginnings of transforming this Delta of the mind into a thriving city state ( then onto civilization). As such, from the initial findings report to the final Local municipal council being built in a far flung province of the nation, there is a long way to go, but it will be accomplished.
I end, and intend to end all post with my inner motto, one that has always been at the back of my head, always present, but only recently has it found its way into the form in which it can be exposed, language.
Hope for the best and prepare for the worst.

Seven
It is actually one minute past seven in the evening as i am typing this.
Do you not just absolutely detest, hate and despise those spare moments in you're day where you do not have enough time to do something productive?
Yet, when added together , they make up a substantial part of your day?
Especially at a time like this, when exams are literally around the corner ( the van carrying the test papers could be around the corner.) .
Furthermore, i have simply noticed that wearing ones school uniform is not exactly the most comfortable piece of clothing.
seven oh five.

Can a Happy man be Remembered?
I was having a discussion with my room mate the other day on what was the importance of life. He said it was to be happy, which admittedly is a fair purpose or want in life. I said remembrance, which was then led on to being happy and being remembered.
I then seemed to have made a point that great men and women throughout history have not in the normal sense, been happy people. Although being happy may in fact be better in a lifetime, being remembered transcends throughout the ages. A happy man will not be remembered and will fade away in the sands of time, a person of greatness, though unhappy will survive the sands; as seen in the tale of Achilles.
Never has a great person who will be remembered been happy as seen in Obama, Gandhi, FDR, Achilles, Alexander, Ceaser, Atilla, Aetius, Machiavelli.
To become great, sacrifice seems to be demanded which in turn leads to unhappiness.
But as my roommate so put it, why not be happy in this lifetime, as after one dies, one does not care anymore.
But being remembered for all eternity seems to be a way to evade complete death, a way to be immortalized for all time, always being around, an escape to eternal life and remembrance , achieving immortality.
Why is this so important?
I do not know.
As a child, i was brought up on Greek and Egyptian myths, the stories of Perseus and Heracles, the epic of the fall of Troy; those who did great deeds are remembered for all of time- which in a way influenced me to a large extent.
So,
Can a Happy Man be Remembered? If anyone has an example, please reply.
